Geotechnical Drilling

NCA Solutions for Geotechnical Drilling

National Compressed Air (NCA) supplies compressors used by construction and geotechnical drilling contractors.

Geotechnical Drilling includes a range of applications performed at different construction stages, such as:

  • Exploratory and sample drilling
  • Foundation drilling
  • Piling and micro piling
  • Forepoling
  • Tieback anchors and soil nailing
  • Overburden drilling and casing
  • Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD)

To drill the hole in the ground, depending on the diameter and depth of the hole, as well as ground condition, different drilling methods are used. Rotary, Down-The-Hole (DTH) Hammer, and Top-Hammer Drilling methods are mostly used for non-exploratory drilling.

Air compressors of different volumes and pressures are used in all three methods to flush the cuttings out of the hole or to run the DTH hammers or pneumatic drifters.

NCA Canada offers different trailer mounted or track carrier mounted, Heli-Portable, and Custom-Engineered Air Compressors required for special projects by construction or geotechnical clients.
